Session 1 Expressive Art
Take drawing and painting beyond expectations to inspiration and insight. Learn new ways to create, fresh methods for creativity, and new materials. Create interpretive compositions then paint with expressive colors. Watercolor or acrylic paints work best. Beginner to advanced.

Sketchbook Inspire
Incorporate more art into your life. Explore creative ideas, prompts, tools, windows, fold-outs, and techniques for working in your own sketchbook. The class is packed with techniques and creative exercises that include mark making, watercolor, mixed media, collate, words, text and more.

Lettering Designs
Learn the basics of lettering designs and how they can be incorporated in our daily lives through card making, paper folding, mini books, envelopes, journaling, mixed media. Many examples of creative card making will incorporate your lettering style along with showing how simple lettering styles can enhance your correspondence and be turned into artful projects.

Lettering Layout/Design
Part 2 of Lettering Designs covers info on “what to do with your lettering knowledge.” Tips and tricks on creating a unique layout & how to mass produce these techniques for card making and gift ideas. Continue to build on knowledge of Calligraphed styles, also learning Copperplate and Neuland. Watercolor techniques, envelope designs and holiday card designs.

Students will explore methods, techniques, materials, and products associated with the art of watercolor. Students are guided through projects provided as desired and encouraged to pursue their own paintings.

Sessions will focus students on developing a deep understanding of the fundamentals of painting, focusing on small landscapes as subjects. Continue with our 30-minute warm-up paintings at the beginning of each class, followed by free painting time with individual instruction. Artists of all levels are welcome.

Through demonstrations and individual instruction, participants learn basic approaches in using pastels. Materials, application, and underpainting discussed. Beginner andexperienced pastel artists. Class will use soft pastels and not oil pastels.
